About Copenhagen Entertainment
The aim of Copenhagen Entertainment is to promote growth and employment within the film-, tv- and computer game industry in the Danish Region of Greater Copenhagen. Running until 2012, the project proposes a set of strategic recommendations for a ten year period. Focus areas in relation to film, tv and computer games are:
- New financing - and business models
- Optimization of management resources
- Coordination of higher education and research
- Strengthening of the legislative framework
- Network building
Copenhagen Entertainment has its' anchor in Copenhagen Capacity, the Danish capital Region's official inward investment agency. The project is financed by the Capital Region of Denmark, by The European Regional Development Fund as well as by the project partners being The Danish Producers Association, The Danish ICT and Electronics Federation (DI-ITEK), Vækstfonden (Danish state investment fund), CAT Science Park and Copenhagen Capacity.
People and Process
Copenhagen Entertainment is led by an Executive Board consisting of senior industry experts. On a daily basis, the project is run by a Secretariate in close collaboration with the screen-based content industries within the Region.
Contact the Secretariate
Crucial to Copenhagen Entertainment is the Advisory Board, made up of CEOs of Danish film -, tv - and computer production companies, senior representatives from the financial sector and other experts. At the onset of Copenhagen Entertainment, the Advisory Board was called in in May 2009 to discuss the challenges and opportunities of the industries. The knowledge generated at this workshop forms the ground on which the Secretariate has based it's first set of initiatives.
Copenhagen Entertainment's analyses and conclusions come together in a dynamic process between Executive Board, Secretariate, Advisory Board and project partners.
The Secretariate has currently proposed six initiatives, all of which have been approved by the Board. You can read more about the initiatives on the left hand side.
In 2012, Copenhagen Entertainment publishes it's full set of strategic recommendations.
