What is Copenhagen Entertainment up to at the moment?
Six initiatives are currently in the making:
(1) Mapping the cluster...
The lack of systematic mapping of the cluster around Danish film, tv and computer games, causes inaccuracy and confusion of data. With this initiative, Copenhagen Entertainment creates an up-to-date register of the size of the film-, tv- and computer game industry, its' development as well as key statistical indicators.
(2) Smart investment
Nurturing the climate for venture capital is imperative for promoting growth in the film, tv and computer game industry. This initiative assesses the prospects for more bold investments, and attempts to conceptualise what it takes to mobilise venture capital to film, tv and computer games.
(3) Content on Demand
The future market place for film, tv and computer games is undoubtedly the internet. "On Demand" hence is the primary challenge facing the industries and their business models. The work group behind this initiative assesses possible scenarios for Danish productions "On Demand" and presents a set of recommendations. Parallel to the extensive analytic work of this initiative, a conference on Content on Demand is held in conjunction with CPH:PIX - Copenhagen Film Festival - in april 2010.
(4) Serious Film & Game
"Serious Film & Game" describes the field of innovation that lies between the film-, tv- and computer game industry and other industries, i.e. using the technology of computer games in fitness gear, or the narrative form of feature films to enhance the quality of educational materials. This initiative works at inspiring content producers to look in other directions than the traditional to develop their businesses.
(5) Copenhagen as Film Location
Acting as backdrop to international film productions can make a city renowned worldwide. Decision makers in many cities all over the world are realising the importance of introducing measures that help attract international film project to their area. What should Copenhagen do? This initiative is both an investigation into the the practical procedures when shooting in Copenhagen as well as an event taking place as part of CPH:PIX - Copenhagen Film Festival - in April 2010, where decision makers, film producers, administrative heads and owners of significant locations around the city meet and adress the issue at hand.
(6) cOPENhagen - Open for Film & Game
An increasing number of events in relation to film, tv and computer games are coming to town! Hence a need for coordination arises. This initiative keeps a dialogue with event-makers to ensure events are optimally coordinated, and assists event-makers in the development of strategy and sponsorship deals.
